I noticed with graphic cards [egs spectrum , picasso II, picallo,
cybergfx] and their software, the most that I can get with photogenics is
256 greys for preview... teh 256color option is ghosted out. I was told
that they should start letting drivers or patches out soon? Anyone know
if its released yet?
BTW-> I can manage to "trick" photogenics to use 256 colors by fooling
around with newmode but if you try to do something [like change brushes]
it gurus.
The problem I think here is that most graphics card do not support
HAM-8 mode which is the preview mode used. (correct me if I am wrong)
I have yet heard any news on new drivers beinng released. The recent
update, which is free (you need to send in a blank disk, a SAE (that
will protect the disk in transit) and your registration number to
Almanthera), provide a number of new features as follows: Stellate
and Refract painting modes, Median and Defocus filters, any-angle
rotation and support for loading and saving 32-bit Targa files. I only
just saw this piece of information on my lastest issue of Amiga
Shopper, so I can't make any comment on the upgrade yet.
For those outside UK, Photogenics is available at 62 UK pounds per
copy (inc P&P). They accept Visa, Access and Mastercard.

I must say I am generally pleased with the package, though I do have
a wish that they will include a zoom feature in their future versions.
But for image manipulation, it really is the works.
